Prof. Athar Khalil
Principal Investigator · Assistant Professor
Athar Khalil is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Prof. Khalil received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from AUB and completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences at Case Western Reserve University.
Her research lies at the intersection of molecular genetics, biotechnology, functional genomics, and cancer biology, with a particular focus on CRISPR-based approaches and translational disease models. Prof. Khalil also holds an adjunct faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she contributes to medical and graduate education.
